Knife edge gate valve is a type of a gate valve that uses a sharp metal plate to obstruct relevant flow through pipelines. This is majorly utilised when a straight line flow with minimum restriction is required.
Knife edge gate valves are available in three forms, one manually where a disc is used to control the opening and closing, the gear type where a system of gears is used to control the opening and closing of valves and the third is automatic, which is operated by an actuator assembly.The actuator assembly is enabled using LVDT where a system of hydraulic cylinders helps in the opening and closing of the valves.
